Hashtags are vital for increasing TikTok’s visibility. Captions increase the reach of our posts, showing them to users interested in a particular topic, and hashtags can add more strategic intent to ensure our content has the highest chance of being seen by the most people. That’s why TikTok hashtag generators can be powerful tools for spreading your message around. These programs analyze current trends and offer various ideas that would help you increase your followership.
Given that I use social media all the time, I decided to share some of my favorite TikTok hashtag generators. In this post, I’ll talk about the 15 most popular programs from this category, their main features, and what separates them from the field.
15 Recommended TikTok Hashtag Generators
While these are rather simple tools, there aren’t many of them. In most cases, marketing software companies use them to promote their flagship products, and TikTok hashtag generators are simply a method for getting more eyes on their main product.
Still, they can do a good job if you’re looking to create numerous hashtags for your social media. Most of them are also suitable for other platforms, providing major assistance to marketers who use an omnichannel approach.
1. Hootsuite
As one of the biggest, most popular social media tools on the market, it’s only to be expected that Hootsuite would produce its proprietary generator. With this simple hashtag tool, you can generate relevant hashtags for your Instagram, TikTok, and other platforms.
First, you need to choose the language for your captions. Select between German, English, Italian, French, and Spanish. The next step is providing a 200-word description. The video description should explain to the software what your content is all about. The last step is introducing relevant keywords.
By analyzing the inputted data, Hootsuite produces ten popular hashtags for your audience. If you want to do things a bit faster, you can simply upload the video, circumventing descriptions and other boxes.
2. Ahrefs
Ahrefs is renowned as a platform that analyzes search volume, links, and other relevant website metrics. It is software used by marketers and SEO experts all over the world. Although they don’t necessarily specialize in social media, they have several tools for these platforms, including a hashtag generator tool.
The thing I love about this software is that it gives you so much leeway when generating effective hashtags. You can choose between 16 tones of voice as well as a custom tone of voice. There’s also an option to generate one-liners or a numbered list of hashtags.
Users can select between numerous languages for the content. Among numerous features, you have the option to generate 5, 10, or 20 common hashtags. The software integrates with Grammarly, so you can make textual fixes on the spot.
3. Aftership
With Aftership, users generate compelling AI-generated description ideas. While the software isn’t as flashy as Hootsuite or Ahrefs, lacking many of their distinct features, it still works like a charm.
When you open the page, there’s a large description box in the middle where you can input 200 characters. After explaining the video content, you should type the hottest keywords pertaining to this topic.
Aftership will generate ten suggestions, most of which are rather unique and frisky. With a simple click of a button, you can copy perfect hashtags and paste them into the platform of your choosing. Like most entries on the list, the software is free to use and doesn’t require a login.

4. Mention
An interesting thing about Mention is that it differentiates between TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Twitter hashtags. After my research, I’ve noticed there’s a good reason for this: hashtags are selected based on their current popularity. In other words, using suggested tags will boost your reach and TikTok follower counter.
Unfortunately, there are a few things I didn’t like about this tags generator. First, there aren’t any added options such as language or keyword selection. You also need to leave an email just to use it, which makes things necessarily complicated. After processing your query, the software provides only seven hashtags followed by an ad for Mention.
Despite its flaws, the outputs are rather solid.
5. Planable
Planable offers one of the best post caption generators within this category. The thing I especially love about it is the large number of AI-enhanced features generating relevant hashtags based on current trends.
A user starts by choosing between one of the ten available tones of voice. Choose if you’d like to see the content in the form of a list or a single line. There’s also an option to generate 5, 10, or 30 hashtags at the same time. Once done, the software generates ten hashtag suggestions, all of which you can copy with a single click.
Perhaps the best thing about Planable is that it works for numerous platforms. Besides TikTok, it also supports Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Twitter, and Facebook. This makes it ideal for any omnichannel content strategy.

6. Hopper
Hopper is a social media scheduling and analytics tool that offers a few free apps to its broader audience. Tag generator is one of these programs, allowing you to quickly generate an unlimited number of catchy captions for any platform. It’s worth noting that software doesn’t differentiate between social media.
After typing in your description, you must choose the number of generated tags. You can set any number of clever captions, which is a nifty feature. Upon generating the list, you can easily delete some of the tags and copy the rest. The software is rather simple, although I liked its outputs.
7. Viralyft
Similar to many entries on the list, Viralyft relies on artificial intelligence to find the most popular, compelling captions on social media. It specializes in TikTok, which means that the outputs are as relevant as possible for your profile.
The software generates tags based on your descriptions. Although there isn’t a character limit, the software doesn’t work properly if your description is too long. Viralyft allows you to generate 5 or 10 hashtags per action, and you can choose between one-line description or hashtag list.
Besides giving you the option to copy all your tags simultaneously, Viralyft allows you to export results in a .TXT file. This is a small thing, but some people might find it useful.
8. Simplified
When you land on the Simplified’s generator page, you’ll notice a small box where you input the description. This is somewhat of a ruse, as you’ll be taken to the company’s AI platform.
Here you can test the Simplified’s generative features. You’ll get access to many software features, which might be overwhelming if you’re just looking to generate hashtags. I got mine by instructing the AI assistant to specifically “generate captions for TikTok.”
Based on what I’ve seen, the outputs are on point, and you can use them for social media. However, I didn’t like that you have to take extra steps to get them.

9. ContentStudio
ContentStudio has one of the simplest tools on this list. Its generator works under a simple premise: input your description and wait a few seconds for the program to provide its output.
You get ten energetic captions, and the software shows you how many characters it used. Hashtags are funny, so you’ll definitely get some value out of them. It’s worth mentioning that ContentStudio provides many free TikTok tools that work well with their generator.
10. HIX.AI
HIX.AI’s TikTok generator isn’t a separate tool. It works within the company’s platform, where you can find all sorts of other nifty functionalities. For example, you can tinker with email software, SEO article generator, eCommerce description tool, and a few other features.
As for the TikTok hashtag program, there are a few options worth a shoutout. For example, content creators can tinker with 13 tones of voice and choose between numerous languages. The thing I liked was the fact you can choose between GPT-4 and GPT-3.5 tech. HIX.AI produces numerous captions for your TikTok, which you can further refine and copy-paste.

11. Pallyy
As with many other social media sites, Pallyy offers a few free tools that will further enhance your marketing efforts. You might’ve tried their bio and image generators, thread makers, and analytics suite.
TikTok caption generator is one of numerous small online tools you can try out while visiting their site. It has a clean interface and is rather easy to use. My favorite thing is that there aren’t any ads on the page, and you don’t have to log in.
All you need to do is input your description and a few relevant keywords. In a second or two, Pallyy will generate clever and quick-witted captions that will blow your TikTok audience away.
12. Vista Social
Vista Social is another simplistic tool that you can use from your browser. The best thing about the program is that it allows you to choose from numerous languages. Besides English, you can generate captions in Italian, Turkish, Portuguese, Chinese, and numerous other global languages.
The software relies on an artificial intelligence algorithm to generate the outputs. With the power of human language processing, it is able to analyze your descriptions and keywords and provide suitable hashtags. Its worth noting that the tech has certain biases, and it might provide offensive and otherwise inappropriate content.
13. Easy-Peasy AI
While Easy-Peasy AI is free software, it only allows you three uses per day. Each time, you generate one to five lists, each with a random number of TikTok captions. As with many other tools, you can copy the entire lists and paste them directly into your social media post.
The great thing about Easy-Peasy AI is that it supports 40 languages, making it ideal for international creators. The tool is powered by ChatGPT-4, and it provides amazing results.
It is also worth mentioning that a paid version of the software provides a few added functions. Among others, the paid iteration of the tool gives you faster outputs, better performance, and more features than the free one.

14. Merlin
Merlin offers web users a simple, free caption generation for TikTok and social media. The software is rather basic, although it allows you to choose between 20-ish different languages. It provides several tags for your profile, which you can immediately copy-paste and share. As with other tools on the list, it is great for beginners.
Unfortunately, while the program does a good job, there were a few things that irked me. Most notably, you have to create an account and verify it via email before you can use the tool. Even then, you’re limited by the number of credits, so you’d likely have to get a paid version sooner than later. There are also annoying pop-ups I could live without.
15. Media Mister
Out of all the tools I tried, Media Mister is the most underwhelming. It doesn’t have any special features, and all you have to do is input your keyword to get TikTok captions. Even then, the software can’t recognize all keywords and might not work in some situations.
Once you enter a keyword, you get a single caption (you heard that right!) that is almost the same as your initial keyword. On top of that, you also have to pass the caption to get it. All in all, if I were you, I would go with one of the other entries I’ve mentioned in the article.
Conclusion
TikTok hashtag generators, first and foremost, save you a lot of time. Using them is a great way to come up with new, original ideas for promoting your social media content.
Although these are the most popular programs on the market right now, I encourage you to do your own research. Like most other simple tools, companies use them to promote their products, so there’s always something new out there. I would especially focus on generators with added features.
