I like to say that your LinkedIn profile is the equivalent of your professional website, representing your personal brand for anyone and everyone to see. Once someone visits your profile, they are going to paint a picture of who you are based on what they see. From a personal branding perspective, the most critical piece of information that they will first scan to try to figure out who you are are those 220 characters displayed under your name. This section is called your LinkedIn headline, and it is critical that you are able to summarize your vital skills, experience, and unique selling proposition (USP) here.

Many people neglect their LinkedIn bio. They write a few basic sentences, believing their experience and track record will be enough to land them a lucrative job. However, as it turns out, you also need a good headline to guide your viewers into better understanding who you are.
A powerful headline, while seeingly a small difference, drastically improves your personal branding and helps to generate various opportunities from your target audience who land on your profile.
How LinkedIn Headline Generators Work
These tools are based on AI technology. They use natural language processing to comprehend your instructions and generate headlines based on them. Some of them come with extra features such as setting the tone of voice, choosing language, and number of outputs.
Most of them are free, and they don’t ask you to leave any data. They are fast and efficient, and it would be silly not to use them to polish your profile or at least get ideas on how to improve your headline.
13 Recommended LinkedIn Headline Generators
Given the simplicity of this software, it isn’t surprising there are so many LinkedIn headline generators on the market. They’re mostly created by content businesses who want to promote their flagship products.
After going through numerous solutions, I’ve made a list of the 13 most popular ones. I tried my best to highlight their drawbacks and advantages, thus helping you make a better decission.
1. Copy.ai
If you’re looking to increase the number of connection requests on this social media platform, you should definitely try Copy.ai’s solution. This nifty marketing tool works under a simple premise. All you have to do is say a few words about your professional identity, job title, and the type of job role you’re looking for.
In a few seconds, Copy.ai will produce kickass headlines that you can insert on your professional profile. This excellent tool gives you a few options so you can choose the output that would ensure the most profile views. Based on my initial testing, most of the results are pretty polished and rely on buzzwords relevant to recruiters and other users.
2. Simplified
Simplified is a comprehensive platform that relies on artificial intelligence. A social media manager can use it for all sorts of purposes, from writing Meta posts to altering media files for YouTube and Instagram and creating professional headlines for LinkedIn.
The thing I like about Simplified is that it’s a much more complex tool than Copy.ai and a few other entries. It comes with a plethora of headline templates that can further polish the results. You also have the option of selecting the number of results, creativity level, tone, and language.
Choosing a language, in particular, is incredible for international users. Switching up the tone makes a significant difference for eye-catching headlines. Simplified basically guides your hand during the content creation process, indicating what kind of things you should add for a more compelling headline.
3. Scalenut
Scalenut goes into lengthy details when generating outputs for your digital marketing. It allows you to explain your current role in 300 words. After that, you can talk about career achievements (500 character limit), and then, you have 80 characters to introduce search keywords. By explaining your career objectives and past experience, you can generate much more comprehensive headline ideas.
Like other entries on the list, Scalenut is completely free and provides outputs within a few seconds. My only gripe with this AI-powered tool is that you have to leave an email. Still, if you’re looking for something a bit more complex than, let’s say, Capitalize My title, this is the program to go with.
4. Easy-Peasy.AI
There’s little you can do with this software, at least when it comes to generating descriptive headlines for LinkedIn. Easy-Pease.AI comes with numerous presets and modifications that will make your results more enticing. I also love the fact it’s completely free and fast.
Start by explaining your job role and skill, and then add your preferred tone of voice. The software allows you to choose from a long list of languages and can produce from one to five outputs. The basic function is powered by GPT-4, but the paid plan allows you to choose between several artificial intelligence technologies.
5. HeadshotPro
HeadshotPro stands out from generic LinkedIn headline tools due to a specific feature. Unlike other software, you can upload your CV in PDF, and the software will decipher your bio and use it for its own output. After that, you’ll get a preview showing how the new headline would look on your profile.
Alternatively, you can write instructions yourself. This option isn’t that comprehensive and doesn’t come with added features or settings. All you have to do is provide a written description, and the software will use it to generate a new bio. While this is somewhat of a workaround, and I prefer using your CV, it still provides superb results.
6. HIX.AI
This is probably my favorite software on the list. While the software does require registration, it is completely free and doesn’t limit you in any way when generating memorable headlines.

Before the program can produce outputs, you need to provide some information. After inserting the company name, you have to describe your position in 400 characters. The next step is to type in your job title, target audience, and tone of voice.
Like Simplified, HIX.AI allows you to choose between various international languages. For further refinement, you can introduce talking points and suggestions. While the tool might be a bit spammy with ads and registration, it gives you some of the most polished headlines out of all these programs.

7. Taplio
With this software, you’re able to create impactful headlines and generate new networking opportunities. Taplio works exclusively online and doesn’t have spammy ads on the page. Its outputs are somewhere in the middle of the pack, not being perfect or underwhelming.
Although a bit underwhelming in terms of its options, tone variations, and languages, Taplio is free to use. However, I have to warn you that this AI-generation tool is incredibly slow, so you’ll have to wait some time for it to produce results. I recommend that you insert a bit longer description for quicker outputs.
8. Tella.tv
Tella.tv is one of the better entries on this list. Their headline generator gives you granular access with numerous nifty options. To use the tool effectively, you have to insert your job title, previous company, past achievements, and other relevant information about your professional career. You can even add emojis for some extra pizazz.
The software is rather fast, providing numerous outputs in just a few seconds. The headline doesn’t come in the form of a description. Instead, it just describes your role and company and adds two or three words about your character. So, Tella.tv isn’t ideal for users who want to use a block of text.

9. NeuralText
Although NeuralText is a quality tool, it doesn’t have the same number of modifications and options as some other entries on the list. You can’t tweak the tone of voice or language, which seriously hampers its usefulness. The only saving grace is that the program is very fast, providing instant results.
The tool doesn’t provide standard headline suggestions in the form of a block of text. Instead, it just takes the information you’ve provided and formats it to look good. NeuralText will shorten the description for better visibility and engagement and add a few separators. So, this isn’t ideal if you want to instill some life into your headliness.
10. Media Mister
Media Mister has several nifty features that will make your headline concise and more suitable for profile visitors. You have three fields at your disposal, allowing you to input your job title, company name, and professional accomplishments. My favorite thing about the inputs is that you’re not limited by the number of characters.
Like a few previously mentioned tools, Media Mister doesn’t provide blocks of text. Instead, it will package your headline into a single coherent sentence with separators. Unfortunately, this makes it a bit hard to properly showcase all information, especially if you have a lot of accomplishments.

11. Snap Headshots
Snap Headshots is, first and foremost, an image generation tool. So, it’s a bit strange they’ve added a LinkedIn headline generator to their website. This small, nifty tool works from the browser and provides near-instantaneous outputs for social media users.
In its main field, you must insert your job title, accomplishments, and other relevant professional information. After that, you have to choose between 12 tones of voice for some extra polishing. Unfortunately, I can’t recommend this program as it fails to procedure outputs. I’ve tried it several times with different descriptions, and it failed each time.

12. AISEO
This generator gives you complete control over your headline creation process. First off, you can select what kind of content you wish to generate. Besides headlines, you can use the program for other descriptions and posts.
The first thing you have to do is write the main points you wish to cover. There’s also an option to select between three tones of voice or add your own. The tool supports numerous languages, which is another main perk.
My favorite thing about AISEO is that it allows you to insert relevant search terms. This small, seemingly insignificant feature can boost your profile visits tenfold. If you’re not certain about the keywords, the program will provide a few suggestions.

13. LazyApply
LazyApply is a somewhat underwhelming tool for generating LinkedIn bio descriptions. It doesn’t come with many features; it has the main box where you describe your professional experience, after which you select the tone of voice.
The program’s best feature comes in the form of PDF downloads. Alternatively, you can instruct the software to send the output to your email address. This small, quality-of-life function makes all the difference as you won’t have to convert files.

As mentioned several times, most of these tools are completely free. So, I suggest you write a short bio in a Word file and simply copy-paste it to several sites. Check out the results each tool provides and select the best ones. I would also suggest you focus on tools with added features, particularly tone of voice, as changing tone of voice makes a significant difference in outputs.
