If you’re running giveaways on Instagram, you should be using an Instagram giveaway picker. These tools allow you to randomly select winners for your giveaways, saving you time and increasing the transparency of the entire process.
In this article, I’ll go through the best programs within this category, explain what separates them from the field, and provide a few recommendations.
What is an Instagram Giveaway Picker?
With an Instagram giveaway picker, you can select a random winner for your contest. Most of them work by analyzing a particular post and, most specifically, hashtags and mentions used within. When a tool finds all the people who used contest keywords, it will create a list of participants and randomly choose one of them.
The great thing about these programs is that most of them are completely free. So, when you run a giveaway, you won’t have to worry about additional costs. In fact, some of them also have nifty features that allow you to commemorate the contest, which will give it more exclusivity while increasing engagement levels.
Why Do I Need to Use One?
Modern Instagram contests presume that you’ll pick a prize winner at random. However, if you were to do this manually, you would have to go through hundreds and even thousands of comments, looking for mentions and hashtags. After that, you’d have to place all these names into an Excel list.
Even then, you’d still have a problem choosing a person at random. Some followers might be skeptical about your selection process, which can affect your reputation. With an Instagram winner picker, you don’t have to worry about these issues.
These tools save you a lot of time by scraping the information automation. They also increase the legitimacy of the process, especially if you decide to stream the event live.
11 Recommended Instagram Giveaway Pickers
There are lots of incredible tools in this software category. Most of them are unique in their own regard but generally work under the same premise. I recommend you choose the ones that are free, as you probably won’t run that many contests.
1. Woobox
Besides helping you choose a random winner for your Instagram giveaways, this picker tool also works for hashtag contests and Facebook giveaways. The program is rather straightforward; you need to find the specific Instagram post URL for which you’re running a contest and determine winners.
Woobox has several extra features that will make your life much easier. For example, it allows you to choose several winners from the participants’ pool. Similarly, use the program to exclude participants that don’t meet the required criteria.
With this program, you can easily access followers’ information. Use prize forms to collect information about account profiles and, based on the data, determine whether these are eligible entries. Another key feature I like is the participant comment extraction function, which allows you to download thousands of comments in a single sheet.
2. Easypromos
Easypromos is a fantastic giveaway picker tool that helps you determine winners from Instagram Reels and posts. The app can filter comments by hashtags to determine if a person is eligible for a giveaway prize. The picker tool analyzes comments from both images and videos, giving you a chance to increase contest engagement.
The tool has a few interesting functions that will assist you during the contest. Besides managing the prize draw, the software also helps with prize delivery. After the initial draw, you can find substitutes (if the original winner isn’t eligible) and deliver gifts to the chosen ones.
Show Mode is another intriguing feature that is used to create announcement posts. Utilize premade templates in a Story or Reel format. That way, your content will gain more legitimacy and transparency. The video also increases user engagement and potentially brings more people to your social media channel.

3. Viralyft
Perhaps the best thing about Viralyft is that the tool is completely free. it has a basic interface, and you can use it at any time in just a few simple steps. The program sifts through comments and chooses a random comment winner. Most importantly, it can distinguish between duplicate comments and ineligible participants by relying on your filters.
With this nifty tool, you can ensure higher transparency for your current and future social media promotions. The user can capture a screenshot or make a video of the process and share it with the audience. You can extract contest winners directly from the website without having to download files or anything of that sort.
4. Comment Picker
Comment Picker is a solid tool I previously had the opportunity to feature on my blog. The software works for various types of giveaways, ranging from Instagram to Facebook, TikTok, Twitter, and YouTube. Besides these tools, it also offers random letter and random number generators, a prize wheel, and a few other cool, small programs.
You start the process by choosing the giveaway post. After that, you need to introduce numerous giveaway settings that will make it easier to find the right person. You can use both comments and comments replies, eliminate duplicate entries, use hashtag filters, add extra entries, and a few other things.
My favorite thing about the Comment Picker is that you can select the type of animation for the selection. Choose between countdown, random name pop, wheel of names, and spinning names. If you wish to further boost engagement with users, you can introduce sounds, add a title, and your brand logo.

5. Rafflys
Rafflys is another specialized platform that provides numerous tools for selecting giveaway winners. These programs work for major social media platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.
As for its Instagram software, it works more or less like all other entries on the list. First, you select the post, and then you introduce various settings. After that, you’re ready to choose the lucky person from eligible comments. When the selection is over, use a video certificate to announce the selection of winners.
The most intriguing thing about Rafflys is that it allows you to create a Wheel of Fortune. Create a custom design and embed it onto your website, thus adding to gamification. Besides facilitating the process, the wheel is great for capturing user contact data, something you can use for future promotions.
6. AI Grow
With this random comment picker, you can streamline the winner selection process, increase engagement, and save time. The tool isn’t revolutionary; it works in a similar way as other entries on the list, allowing you to find winners and substitute winners based on hashtags and mentions.
AI Grow has customizable entry rules that determine who can and can’t participate. One thing that makes it a bit different from other programs is its scheduling feature. With it, you can specify when the contest will end and when you will draw the winners from your Instagram followers.
With the free plan, you’ll have a limited number of uses. The advanced plan increases the number of giveaways, participants, winners, and alternate winners.

7. Simpliers
Simpliers is a tool that works for various social media contests. Before using it, you need to specify whether you’re running an Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, or Facebook campaign. While the software doesn’t have advanced features like some other entries, nor does it provide a premium giveaway experience, it still does its job quite well.
Probably the best thing about this nifty software is the settings. You can name your Instagram giveaway, determine the number of winners and substitute winners, and the minimum number of tags. You can also modify other entry criteria including required keywords and duplicate tags.
Among other things, Simpliers allows you to check previous campaigns and previous winners. This makes it especially great for content creators who use this promotional strategy on a regular basis.
8. Wask
Wask is a comprehensive platform for your Google and Facebook Ads. It’s an ideal software for small entrepreneurs and content creators who want to target audiences based on specific criteria. Although this isn’t necessarily the company’s main focus, you can also find several giveaway tools on the website.
Wask’s convenient giveaway picker is completely free. Its simple interface makes it ideal for users who have never run contests on social media. You start the process by choosing the right giveaway post for your contest. After introducing several filters, Wask will select your winners in no time.
Generally speaking, this is a simple and straightforward giveaway winner picker tool. As such, it might help casual users who want to do a single contest. However, if you’re doing giveaways every once in a while, it might be better to go with some other solution.
9. You To Gift
You To Gift is an interesting program that has a few unique features. Unlike most software on the list, this tool allows you to randomly select winners from your posts as well as your follower pool. This makes it slightly different from an average program that focuses on selecting winners from posts.
When you use this tool, you can filter participants from all comments, unique comments, and based on likes. You can tell the program to focus on people who follow you or to allow everyone to participate. Like most other tools from this category, You To Gift allows you to choose the number of winners.
My favorite thing about the tool is that it shows how many Instagram comments and likes a specific post received. It also shows you the total number of followers for the account. This is a type of preview that helps you determine whether it’s even worth it to run the contest for that piece of content.

10. Ideta
Before you can start using Ideta, you need to connect your official Instagram account to the platform. Unfortunately, my biggest problem with this software is that it takes so much time to perform a basic selection. Ideta asks for a lot of different data, which is highly uncommon for these programs.
Still, I can’t say anything bad about its performance. The picker works as intended, selecting contest winners from a predefined pool of users. You have the option to select a winner from comments based on a predetermined mention of a hashtag. After modifying settings, the software picks a person in a few moments.
11. AiSchedul
When you land on the AiShedul site, you might notice several similarities with the AiGrow solution. The two platforms are eerily similar, using a similar system of choosing random Instagram contest winners.
After leaving your contest ULR, you need to choose the main hashtag for participating. After that, you need to choose the number of winners and substitutes, after which the program will find the right people. Among other things, AiShedul allows you to remove duplicate participants and other users who aren’t eligible to compete.
While the software has a free plan, it only works for one giveaway. For more Instagram giveaways and a large pool of competitors, you’ll have to go with the paid version.

As most of them are free, you can tinker around before the contest to see which one suits you the best. My personal favorites had extra customization options, so I recommend you focus on these specific programs.
