15 Best AI Text Generators (Free and Paid)
AI text generators have taken the world by storm. Some will argue that they make you a better copywriter, while others have argued that it’s impossible to detect what is human-generated and what is AI-generated.
You will have to be the judge as to if you use, and how often you use, these AI text generators. If you wish to use one of these tools as part of your marketing process, make sure to read this post. I’ll break down the best software you can find online, focusing on all the benefits you can gain by using them.
How Do AI Text Generators Work?
As you can tell by the name, content generation tools rely on artificial intelligence and natural language processing to produce both short and long-form pieces. By relying on massive amounts of online data, they generate blogs, social media posts, and other content for marketers and casual users alike.
Although you might think that a copywriting tool can generate blog posts from scratch, this isn’t entirely true. Instead, writing generators scour the web, searching for the most suitable pieces for specific keywords you’ve typed in. The data is fed to machine learning systems, which, in turn, utilize it to create posts.
What to Look For in an AI Text Generator?
In my opinion, the most important thing you need to consider is the language model. Almost every writing tool relies on GPT-3 or GPT-4 technology as the most reliable option. However, I believe that software that mixes and mashes several AI models in one can yield even better results.
Of course, you can’t neglect the things like user experience and user interface. In the end, a person shouldn’t have a hard time using an artificial intelligence tool. I for one, would be infuriated if I had to jump through extra hoops.
The Best AI Text Generators to Check Out
Without further rambling, let’s review the best AI software that can produce quality, original content (although I ALWAYS recommend you put the output through Copyscape and a human eye before using!) :
1. Jasper
Jasper AI will blow out of water most content writers on the list. In my opinion, it’s the most complete, most comprehensive writer tool on this list.
First and foremost, the software utilizes all sorts of frameworks and can create diverse content formats. Whether you’re a social media manager or a paid advertiser, you can benefit from its features. The company heads claim that the platform uses a proprietary natural language model to provide unique content ideas.
The reason why Jasper AI can provide high-quality content lies in its flexibility. You can modify every step of the content creation process, altering outlines, adding paragraphs, rephrasing sections, and performing numerous modifications on the fly. I especially liked the tool’s Boss Mode, where AI will finish the sentences you’re writing.

2. Copy.ai
If you have read my blog for a while, you know that I like to mention Copy.ai and Jasper AI side by side. Similar to the previous entry, this is a perfect tool for article writers who want to automate their workflow.
Copy.ai can generate all sorts of content types by relying on a combination of several models. Besides relying on GPT-powered text generation, the software boosts its performance with other proprietary technologies, providing diverse outputs for its users. Whether creating blog articles, cover letters, or sales emails, you can use simple prompts for maximum effect.
On top of that, the writer tool is perfect for repurposing inappropriate content or unsafe content. You can use it to spin other articles you’ve read online while altering their tone of voice. Content creators can also benefit from the massive database that stores all of your company data and makes branding a breeze.
3. Writesonic
Writesonic utilizes a complex, granular process to create content for blogs. I especially like the fact that human writers have an active role in generation, ensuring that the post matches the user intent and is of sufficient quality.
After assessing trending keywords, the tool will require your input. After that, it will assess your brand outlines and previously made pieces so it can understand what the perfect piece of content should look like. The writing tool has an integrated plagiarism checker, ensuring you’re not hit by any penalties.
I also liked the fact that the platform comes with integrated SEO tools, a collaboration feature, an art generator, and a few other nifty functionalities. During content creation, you can also introduce interesting data you’ve extracted from other online sources and enrich posts with knowledge graphs.
4. Rytr
Rytr is a complex content marketing suite that you can use to create all sorts of content outlines. You can use the platform to fine-tune various parts of your post, expanding, summarizing, and otherwise tweaking any sentence that sounds awkward. Rytr can create content briefs for all sorts of formats, ranging from product descriptions, social media bio, emails, and headings.
After leaving your input, the tool will perform its AI miracle to create the perfect piece for your company. The automatic text generator will run each post through a plagiarism checker, ensuring that your content is unique and engaging. My favorite thing about the software is that it comes with various integration options and collaboration features.

5. ChatGPT
Honestly, most marketers won’t even think about using ChatGPT to generate blog post ideas. While everything originated from this technology, the software is ways away from other content generator tools. The most egregious thing is that it doesn’t have any additional features that other platforms have.
Yet, that doesn’t mean ChatGPT sucks. It’s just that the artificial intelligence tool is so limited in terms of its functionality that you’ll likely go with some paid software. Nevertheless, if you’re new to AI, ML, and neural networks, I suggest you play around with ChatGPT to get a feel for the process. Unlike most idea generators, this app is completely free, making it a perfect choice for testing and learning.

6. Copysmith
Copysmith has recently gone through a transformation and is now known as Describely. The platform is ridiculously good for product descriptions and eCommerce, providing little value for blog posts. So, if you’re mainly looking for article generation, I’d seriously recommend an extensive trial before committing.
I love Copysmith’s bulk features, allowing you to modify numerous pages from a single dash. It’s one of the best batch-creation tools within the e-commerce niche that can generate and modify content at scale. Whether you wish to change numerous product names or optimize keywords for SEO, Copysmith is the right solution.
7. Frase
Most people use Frase as a keyword and outline generator. To be more precise, you can use this tool to improve your blog posts for search engines by introducing relevant keywords and headings and tracking the word count. I love the platform as it allows me to create business content that search engines will eat up.
As of late, the creators also added features that would help you with the creative process. Frase can now generate long-form articles while following the best optimization practices. That way, you can kill two birds with one stone, automating article writing while making sure you’ll get a bump within SERPs.

8. Quillbot
There isn’t much fuss with Quillbot. The software is pretty straightforward, ensuring the highest user experience and satisfaction. You can use the program directly from the browser; all you gotta do is buy the credits and start your content generation process.
My main issue with the software is that it can’t create posts from scratch. It mainly works as a rephrasing app, which might work for some people. However, if you’re a serious marketer, you’ll likely need access to a more comprehensive creative process.

9. Hypotenuse AI
I’m pretty split when it comes to Hypotenuse AI. While the program is great at its job, it doesn’t have many unique features. Specifically, it doesn’t bring anything new to the mix that you haven’t seen in other content creators.
Basically, you have to input the basic prompts and add relevant keywords. After that, the app pumps out up to 1,500 words of blog post. Aside from this format, Hypotenuse AI also works well for emails, social media posts, and other popular marketing content types. One of the things I do appreciate is its bulk generation feature.

10. Scalenut
Perhaps the best thing about Scalenut is that it can generate a massive content plan in a few brief moments. It’s basically like an SEO tool that combines AI-content generation functionality. Once Scalenut retrieves the content ideas, you can also check CPC and organic traffic for each keyword. Posts are categorized into clusters, which can direct your interlinking methodology.
As for content generation, each piece will be made with keywords in mind. When everything’s said and done, you’ll get a well-optimized copy that follows your brand voice. There’s also an optimization suite where you can further boost your SEO scores to ensure higher relevancy for the search engines.
11. Wordtune
Perhaps the best thing about Wordtune is that it comes with all sorts of integrations. You can use the extension within Gmail, Twitter, and other communication platforms as a way of automating all your business and personal communication.
Wordtune is also great at modifying texts. You don’t have to generate posts from scratch over and over again. Instead, you can simply repurpose older emails, social media posts, and blogs to save yourself a lot of trouble. The app can also retrieve interesting stats and data from the web to enhance your content, and you can even insert jokes into your posts.

12. WordAI
I’m not the biggest fan of WordAI. The platform only works for rewrites, making it a bad investment for most marketing firms. Then again, that doesn’t necessarily mean you won’t find any value from it. The generator can still automate otherwise tedious tasks and replace lazy writers who don’t provide any unique insights during content creation.
The cool thing about WordAi is that it has a nifty bulk feature that allows you to rewrite numerous posts at once. This can make it useful in certain situations where you want to finish specific, unique tasks as efficiently as possible. Most importantly, all posts are checked for uniqueness, ensuring that each piece passes Copyscape.
13. Magic Write
Magic Write is a tool accessible within Canva Pro. While the program can’t compare to the industry’s big hitters like Writesonic and Jasper, it does provide certain benefits. Specifically, you can use it in conjunction with Canva’s great graphic design suite to create all sorts of marketing materials.
For example, Magic Write can add text to your brochures and social media posts and generate classy emails. This feature is perfect for graphic designers who know how to use Canva but struggle to write engaging texts.

14. AI Writer
While not the biggest name in the industry, AI Writer has a few nifty features that you’ll love. Aside from the standard content generation and rewriting, the tool also has a subtopic discovery, which can prove to be invaluable when creating clusters. In conjunction with the SEO suite, it can properly your website’s placement in the search engines.
Another thing I liked was the citation checker. If you notice any suspicious information, you can backtrack its origin to ensure it’s relevant and trustworthy.

15. Anyword
In my opinion, Anyword should be an essential platform for any PPC company. The tool has a predictive functionality that assesses your paid posts before you start throwing money at Google. It analyzes potential results you’ll get from search engines, helping you decide whether the juice is worth the squeeze.
Despite being focused on paid advertising, Anyword can also help you with other formats. For example, it also works as a cold email generator and an article creator. The software also provides an assessment of relevancy, showing you which audience would be best suited for a particular post. It also has a few integrations, like Canva Pro and Grammarly Premium.

Conclusion
Although I don’t use these AI text generator tools for my usual long-form content creation, I do sometimes explore their features and experiment with them for short form social media content. Even if you’re not using them to “cheat” the system, you can still benefit from an occasional rewrite. Hopefully, you’ll also find a way of utilizing these apps to boost your marketing performance.
