The question might surprise you, but it really is the simplest thing that can make a big impact on what content you’re creating and where you’re sharing it. - Today I’m talking about the one question you can ask yourself about your business or that you can ask your clients that will really help you focus on what you need to be doing with your social media strategy
- When I tell people that 94% of business are engaged in social media in 2014, I have to share the disclaimer that those companies have over 100 people
- A question that I got at a recent event about selling a product that people don’t need to worry about until the end of their lives – this person was wondering how to get the word out about this thing that people might not know they need
- Where do you get your leads?
- A lot of business happens through referrals, but in this case, a lot of it happened through estate lawyers
- So what you want to be doing is engaging on whatever platform your leads are coming from, right? In this case, this person wanted to be interacting with those estate lawyers so they can introduce them to more business
- Now we have a great objective!
- Then you have to look at your scale and your reach: can you do business in your metro area? Can you do it nationally? How can you get in touch with all of those people?
- Maybe most of these lawyers are on Linkedin, or maybe you could write a blog to educate more of these lawyers about the services you can provide, maybe you can target those lawyers with Facebook ads, maybe even on Pinterest!
- It all comes down to what your objective is and who your customer is
- You also have to remember that, while it’s easy to focus on the consumer facing side, you have to think about the business facing side, because oftentimes that’s where a lot of those leads come from
